Introduction
Collector, record store owner and mine of musical knowledge, Zafar “Zaf” Chowdhry is a vinyl junkie. His first ‘Private Wax’ compilation, on BBE Records in London, immediately became a highly sought after gem, due to the rare and wonderful disco and boogie contained within.
Private Wax Vol.2
Challenge
Create a cover design for the “Private Wax Vol.2 ” album release on vinyl and CD by using the retro visual language of the early 80’s.
Result
For this project I was hired as an art director. Together with BBE Records house designer Jake Holloway we re-created a vintage Salsoul record cover from 1981.
